Celso A. Reis

Celso Reis is a member of the faculty of the Doctoral Programme BiotechHealth and the group leader of Glycobiology in Cancer at i3S/Ipatimup. Celso A. Reis is a scientist specialized on glycobiology in human diseases, with particular focus on gastrointestinal cancer. He has contributed to the molecular characterization of the alterations of glycosylation in gastric mucosa induced by Helicobacter pylori, the uncovering of the glycogenes underlying the modulation of the glycosylation in gastric development and progression. Currently he is developing innovative strategies for a better diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of cancer.

Celso Reis has published 120 peer-reviewed journal articles, 5 reviews, 4 book chapters and 4 patents. His research work has been cited more than 3700 times; H-index 35 (December 2015 according to Scopus).
