Marina Pinheiro
Marina Pinheiro is an Investigator in LAQV/REQUIMTE, Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (FFUP) since 2018. She obtained her Master degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2009 in FFUP and in 2013 the European Doctorate Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences specialization) in FFUP. She also has a BSc degree in Medical Sciences. She was Assistant Professor in FFUP and held a FCT Postdoctoral fellowship in the same institution. Currently, her research focuses on the improvement of medical treatments for infectious and cancer diseases: combining nanomedicine with alternative routes of administration to reduce the toxicity and increase drugs efficacy. She is also interested in the general mechanism of drug action, including the pharmacologic effects through receptor-independent mechanisms.
