Sofia Lima
Sofia Lima is an Assistant Investigator at LAQV/REQUIMTE, within the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto. Her research interests are on the development of nanomedicines and their application in the pharmaceutical and food science research fields. She is interested in understanding how biomaterials interact with the skin, through the development of acellular and cellular in vitro skin models, and design of smart delivery systems, to achieve more effective topical therapies. She has strong background in the development of multifunctional delivery systems for oral and topical delivery of bioactive agents. Current research focuses on skin-inflammatory diseases and development of nutraceuticals towards healthy aging of the population.
