Perpétua Pinto-do-Ó

P. Pinto-do-Ó main scientific interest is on Stem Cells and Regenerative Biology. Using the heart (a poorly regenerative organ) as model-system, she implemented a new research line on cardiovascular repair/ regeneration at INEB, represented by the integrative efforts to identify cells/molecular cues (cellular and non-cellular, e.g. extracellular matrix) implied in heart development and response to disease. Research on a highly regenerative system, i.e. hematopoietic, will be resumed from 2016.
